A statue of Ronald Reagan was unveiled at the Capitol today, following brief and emotional remarks by Nancy Reagan.
“It’s nice to be back under happier circumstances,” the former first lady said, noting that she had last been at Statuary Hall for her husband’s memorial services.
“The statue is a wonderful likeness of Ronnie, and he would be so proud,” she said.
Nancy Reagan thanked another prominent Nancy in attendance, Speaker Pelosi.
“I particularly want to thank Nancy Pelosi for everything she did to organize this, bring this together, and make it happen,” Reagan said
Reagan met with President Obama yesterday as he President signed a bill to commemorate Ronald Reagan’s 100th birthday.
