George Tiller, a controversial Wichita physician whose practice included performing abortions, was shot and killed this morning as he walked into church.
Tiller’s practice of late-term and so-called “partial birth” abortions resulted in a criminal prosecution this year which resulted in an acquittal.
The 67-year-old was killed just after 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Wichita Eagle.
Tiller had previously been shot in 1993, the suspect in which was convicted and remains in prison.
