Hundreds of thousands of protesters are set to take to the streets of Washington for the Women’s March on Washington to raise awareness of women’s rights and civil rights that they fear could be the target of repressive policies under the Trump administration.
{mosads}Clinton, the first woman to win a major U.S. political party’s presidential nomination, fought bitterly with newly inaugurated President Trump throughout the 2016 general election.
Trump has been widely criticized for his disparaging remarks about women, including comments made during a taping of “Access Hollywood” in 2005, in which Trump could be heard saying that his celebrity status allowed him to kiss and grope women without their permission.
Despite the bitter rivalry between Trump and Clinton, the former secretary of State attended his inauguration on Friday. Trump thanked her for attending during a luncheon afterward, asking Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, to stand up.
