Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s (D) defense team joked Friday it will take until the year 2060 before they’re ready to go to trial.
The deposed governor asked judges to supply more lawyers to pore through hours of tape and documents while preparing for trial.
“With all those documents, how do you not go through the index and skim them, at least? You can’t not look at them,” Michael Ettinger, attorney for Rob Blagojevich, said in an interview. “The government created a monster.”
The Chicago Tribune reported the lawyers’ expected trial start date as 2060 without the hlp of more lawyers.
