Everyone hated those teachers that handed out homework right before vacation. Who wants to write a book report on “The Red Badge of Courage” during spring break?
Looks like Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) would’ve been one of those teachers. Baucus is so excited about his work on health reform legislation, he cornered a handful of his colleagues before the recent congressional recess and asked them to take time over break to read the “white paper” on health reform that he put out last November.
“I asked..10 key senators to read that white paper over that last two-week break–all 87 pages of it–and to get back to me personally with what they liked and what they didn’t like,” Baucus said at the National Press Club Friday morning. “And some did it,” he added.
No word from Baucus on who were the lucky lawmakers.
