Ivanka Trump in a new interview says she is a force for good in response to criticism that she is “complicit” in what is happening in her father’s White House.
“If being complicit is wanting to — is wanting to be a force for good and to make a positive impact, then I’m complicit,” she said in response to a question during an excerpt of an interview scheduled to air Wednesday on CBS “This Morning.”
“I don’t know that the critics who may say that of me, if they found themselves in this very unique and unprecedented situation that I am now in, would do any differently than I’m doing.”
{mosads}Trump, who has an office in the West Wing and is an unpaid adviser to President Trump, said she hopes to make a positive impact in her position.
“I don’t know what it means to be complicit, but you know, I hope time will prove that I have done a good job,” said Trump, who initially planned to adviser her father in an informal capacity.
“And much more importantly that my father’s administration is the success that I know it will be.”
Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump’s husband, also serves in the administration as a senior adviser to the president.
Ivanka Trump has come under repeated criticism from the left for her father’s actions.
“Saturday Night Live” last month mocked Trump in a skit called “Complicit.”
The skit featured Scarlett Johansson playing the first daughter in a commercial for a new fragrance.
“Complicit. The fragrance for the woman who can stop all this. But won’t,” a narrator in the mock ad says.
