Clinton to science demonstrators: ‘March on!’

Hillary Clinton applauded those who joined the March for Science on Saturday, tweeting at her followers to “march on!”

“Happy Earth Day, and thanks to math and science for all you’ve given us! March on!” Clinton wrote with a link to a video of astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson discussing science and politics.

In the video, Tyson discusses people who “don’t know much about science … rising to power” before showing an old video clip of Vice President Pence discussing evolution as a theory.

“You have not fully expressed your power as a voter until you have a scientific literacy in topics that matter for future political issues,” deGrasse Tyson says in the video. “This requires a base level of science literacy that I don’t think we have achieved yet.”

Clinton joined a chorus of lawmakers who endorsed and supported the March for Science on Saturday. Numerous lawmakers voiced their concerns over climate change and the environment on social media and at marches.
