Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) has raised $887,483 in campaign cash during the most recent filing period, bringing her total funds to $4.6 million. The California Democrat will report her numbers to the FEC this week.
The L.A. Daily News reports that Boxer attracted 4,500 new donors this quarter, and that 90 percent donors gave $100 or less.
Despite the impressive haul, Boxer can’t rely on fundraising to scare off potential challengers. Carly Fiorina, who has said she’s “seriously considering” a run, can easily match herself whatever Boxer can raise.
