Actor Alec Baldwin made fundraising history in New Jersey Thursday night, helping to raise a record $5.1 million for Democrats in the state.

General Majority PAC told The Philadelphia Inquirer that about 1,000 guests attended Thursday night’s event at the Collingswood Grand Ballroom in Collingswood, N.J. helping to raise the $5.1 million.

The amount raised is believed to be the most raised by either party at a single fundraiser in state history.

{mosads}“Tonight’s event puts New Jersey Democrats in a great position to win important races across the state this year,” Tricia Mueller, the PAC’s treasurer, said in a statement.

Dignitaries included Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Murphy, New Jersey Senate President Stephen Sweeney and Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald.

The PAC is reportedly tied to George E. Norcross III, a South Jersey hospital and insurance executive who is a Democratic power broker in the state.

The Inquirer reported that General Majority has spent millions in recent years expanding Democrats’ majority in New Jersey’s Legislature.

All 120 seats in the Legislature are up for election in November, and New Jersey is also one of two states holding a governor’s race.

Current New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) unsuccessfully sought the presidency last year before backing President Trump. His second term ends in 2018.

Baldwin has repeatedly played President Trump on “Saturday Night Live” since the 2016 presidential election.

Trump criticized Baldwin’s impersonation of him before Inauguration Day, calling it “really mean-spirited and not very good” last December.
