Jeb Bush trades Derek Jeter for Tagg Romney in Miami Marlins bid: report
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) has ended a partnership with baseball star Derek Jeter to make a bid for the Miami Marlins and has instead teamed up with Mitt Romney’s eldest son Tagg to make a bid of more than $1.1 billion, according to Bloomberg.
Bush had partnered with the New York Yankees veteran in a $1.3 billion bid for the Florida baseball team, beating an offer from Tagg Romney and Quogue Capital founder Wayne Rothbaum.

The former presidential candidate pulled out of the first partnership after Jeter expressed a desire to control the business and baseball operations. Bush’s partnership with Jeter had also struggled to fund their bid.
Bush is bringing his national profile to the deal financed largely by Rothbaum and Romney, sources told Bloomberg.
