Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) on Tuesday praised pro-ObamaCare protesters, saying they are the reason the healthcare law hasn’t already been repealed and urging them to keep making their voices heard.
Warren told MSNBC that she thinks protests have made a “huge difference” in fighting for ObamaCare, which is still standing even though the GOP controls the White House, Senate and House after campaigning for years to repeal the law.
“It’s the fact that people have been out there pushing back, is the reason that right now healthcare hasn’t already been repealed,” Warren said.

That’s what’s made it possible for Americans across this country to say ‘wait a minute, in a democracy, this Congress is supposed to do what we want,’ and what people want in this country is they just want healthcare coverage.”
Protesters chanted “kill the bill, don’t kill us” and “shame” in the Senate chamber Tuesday as senators prepared to take a procedural vote on their effort to repeal and replace ObamaCare.
Capitol police escorted protesters out of the building after they interrupted with the chants.
A vote on an amendment that would repeal much of ObamaCare is expected Wednesday.
