Trump to GOP senators: Don’t give up on ObamaCare repeal and replace
President Trump on Sunday urged Republicans not to give up trying to repeal and replace ObamaCare, after a discouraging week for the GOP’s healthcare plan.
“Don’t give up Republican Senators, the World is watching: Repeal & Replace…and go to 51 votes (nuke option), get Cross State Lines & more,” he tweeted.

Trump initially said that he wanted Republicans to wait for ObamaCare to “implode” before continuing to act on legislation to repeal and replace the healthcare law, but changed course in a series of tweets Saturday.

Although Senate leadership has indicated they’re ready to move on to other legislation after a series of failures on healthcare, Trump on Saturday insisted that GOP senators “demand another vote before voting on any other bill!”
The president also urged the Senate to change its legislative process in order to pass the legislation.
The “skinny repeal” of ObamaCare, a final bid by the Senate to pass a bill, failed in the Senate early Friday morning. Three GOP senators opposed the measure, including a surprise vote against the bill from Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). The defections along with total Democratic opposition meant the bill could not pass despite a Republican-majority Senate.
