Von Brunn stopped operating web site last week

James von Brunn ceded control of his website on Tuesday, about a week before he allegedly opened fire in the Holocaust Memorial Museum, killing one security guard.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which has been tracking von Brunn for several years, reported Thursday that records show von Brunn transferred the website, HolyWesternEmpire.com, on June 1.

The record show that von Brunn created the site in October of 2000 and he transferred it last week to Steve Reimink of West Olive, Mich.

The Southern Poverty Law Center suggests that the transfer of the site could have been an indication that von Brunn was preparing to act.

This is also interesting, from the Southern Poverty Law Center:

Reimink’s E-mail address, “steveo1488@hotmail.com” includes the symbolic number 1488. In white supremacist circles, 14 refers to the very popular 14-word slogan coined by the late neo-Nazi David Lane: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.” The letter H is the eighth letter in the alphabet, and 88 often stands for “Heil Hitler.” Reimink’s cell phone was not accepting messages, and he did not respond to an E-mail request for comment.
