The Walt Disney company is donating $2.5 million to Hurricane Irma relief efforts throughout Florida and the Caribbean.
The donation will go to the American Red Cross, UNICEF and Save the Children, among other nonprofits, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
“As millions of people now face the daunting challenge of putting their lives and communities back together in the wake of these historic hurricanes, they need our help,” Disney Chairman and CEO Robert Iger said in a statement.

The company also said it would match dollar for dollar employees’ donations to relief and recovery organizations.
The Walt Disney Company also raised nearly $16 million to aid those affected by Hurricane Harvey, which swept through the Gulf of Mexico last month, devastating communities across southeast Texas and Louisiana.
Less than two weeks later, Hurricane Irma tore through the Caribbean before making landfall in Florida early Sunday. The storm prompted the largest evacuation efforts in the state’s history and left homes destroyed and millions without power. So far, 16 deaths related to the storm have been reported in the mainland U.S.
