Congressional approval rating holds at 37%
After a sharp spike earlier this year, Congress’ approval rating held steady from April to May at 37 percent, according to a Gallup poll released Monday.
As the chart shows, the approval rating jumped in February, shortly after President Obama was sworn in, and improved again in March.
Gallup also provides an interesting graph of the congressional approval rating dating back to 1974.
The approval rating for Congress jumped the most – 8 points – among Democrats. Interestingly, it also jumped among Republicans, from 15 percent to 20 percent.
There was a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percent in the poll.
