Wayne State University has suspended a student for allegedly making threats against immigrants.

The Detroit Free Press reports the student, who has not been identified by the university, was suspended this week after a confrontation in the campus’s State Hall.

Members of the left-wing activist group By Any Means Necessary (BAMN) were set up in the building when the student approached the table and pulled out a knife, according to WSU police chief Anthony Holt.

{mosads}”I don’t know if he threatened them but he violated campus policy on workplace violence,” Holt told the Free Press. “We don’t allow any weapons or any type of violence between parties.”

Video of the confrontation surfaced on social media. The video shows the student arguing with the BAMN members.

“I think we should deport or kill all illegals who don’t belong in our country,” the student says on the video while brandishing a knife.

The student can be seen wearing a “Trump-Pence 2020” shirt in the video.

The students at the table respond by shouting at the man brandishing the knife and calling him a racist.

BAMN organizer Kate Stenvig told the Free Press that the student had previously walked past their table while shouting “Make America great again” and “Kill all illegals.”

In a statement posted to the university’s website, university President M. Roy Wilson said the student has been suspended “pending a full investigation.”

Wilson also condemned the incident, saying the university remains “steadfast in our commitment to building an inclusive campus community.”

“While we encourage respectful dialogue and sometimes passionate debate about differing views and perspectives, there is no place for violence or threats of violence at Wayne State,” Wilson said.
