Ex-Trump aide calls Huckabee Sanders ‘a fat slob’ in interview
Former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg called Sarah Huckabee Sanders a “fat slob” in an interview on Monday after the White House press secretary criticized earlier comments he had made during a series of unusual interviews.
“If Sarah Huckabee wants to start debasing me, she’s a joke. OK, fine, yeah, she’s not attractive. She’s a fat slob, OK, fine,” Nunberg told NY1.
{mosads}”But that’s irrelevant. The person she works for has a thirty percent approval rating, okay? So if she wants to start attacking me, she can do that, that’s fine. But we know that’s a joke,” he said.
Sanders ripped Nunberg’s comments during the White House press briefing, calling them incorrect after the fired aide suggested that special counsel Robert Mueller might have something on President Trump.
Nunberg earlier had told NBC News that the special counsel’s line of questioning “insinuated to me that [Trump] may have done something” wrong.
“I definitely think he doesn’t know that for sure because he’s incorrect,” Sanders said. “As we said many times before, there was no collusion with the Trump campaign. Anything further on what his actions are — he hasn’t worked at the White House. I can’t speak to him or the lack of knowledge that he clearly has.”
Nunberg told The Washington Post on Monday that he would not cooperate with a subpoena sent by Mueller, which requested his past communications with senior Trump campaign and administration officials.
In subsequent interviews, he took a cavalier approach to the idea that he might be jailed, and offered a series of insults toward people in Trump’s orbit that included Sanders, Mueller, former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and the president himself.
“I think it would be really really funny if they wanted to arrest me because I don’t want to spend 80 hours going over emails with Steve Bannon and Roger Stone,” Nunberg told MSNBC, referring to the ousted chief strategist and a Trump campaign adviser, respectively.
Nunberg was fired from Trump’s campaign team in 2015 after racist social media posts from him surfaced.
Trump, himself, sued Nunberg for allegedly breaking a confidentiality agreement.
