Pennsylvania state GOP lawmaker gets restraining order against fellow Republican: report

A Pennsylvania state lawmaker has obtained a restraining order against state Rep. Nick Miccarelli (R) after accusing him of pulling a gun on her and threatening her life. 

State Rep. Tarah Toohil, also a Republican, said that Miccarelli had once pulled a gun on her in 2012, according to The Citizens’ Voice. In another incident, Miccarelli allegedly threatened to crash a car the two were in while speeding at 100 mph.

“I have been silent for fear that when this story is released he will kill me, himself and others,” Toohil wrote in a complaint.

The restraining order prevents Miccarelli from contacting Toohil, as well as from possessing a gun. 

Frank Keel, a spokesman for Miccarelli, told The Citizens’ Voice that Toohil’s allegations and request for the restraining order were “part of an ongoing smear campaign” against the lawmaker.

Toohill also said in her complaint requesting the restraining order that Miccarelli had stalked and harassed her since a relationship between the two ended, and that he had previously tried to blackmail her by releasing photos.

Miccarelli has also been accused by another woman of forcing her to have sex with him in 2014 after she ended a relationship with him. She also said that he drugged her at least once during their relationship, and had nonconsensual sex with her.
