9 notable signs from student anti-gun violence walkouts

Students across the country walked out of their schools Wednesday to protest gun violence and advocate for gun control.

Students held up signs with a variety of different messages, urging lawmakers to protect children and teenagers, not guns.

The walkouts on Wednesday took place one month after a gunman opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., killing 17 people.

Students from the school have been at the forefront of efforts to call for more gun control, and they have been joined by other students from across the country.

A major march in Washington, D.C., has been planned for March 24.
