Kimmel highlights foreign-made Trump goods to mock president’s ‘America First’ slogan

Jimmy Kimmel late Wednesday highlighted foreign-made goods found on TrumpStore.com to mock President Trump’s “America First” business slogan.

Kimmel said that he wanted to see how Trump’s platform of promoting American businesses was going, so he ordered merchandise from the official Trump family online store.

“Even though my wife was yelling at me the whole time I was on the site ‘don’t order anything from that,’ I ordered a bunch of stuff from it,” Kimmel said.

Kimmel showed off a Trump-branded golf hat, duffel bag, shoe bag, blanket and a collector medallion — all made in China.

“I got something for my son, a toddler bib, just like the one the president wears when he eats cheeseburgers in bed,” Kimmel said. “Made in — wanna guess where this one was made — in Peru.”

Kimmel also said a Trump gold bar coin bank and a pet bandana did not have a country of origin listed, which is illegal for goods imported into the U.S.

Failure to properly report product origin could result in penalties and a fine up to $500,000, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Kimmel said he would file an official complaint against the president’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric, who run the Trump Organization, for the “oversight.”

“Are they capable of shame?” Kimmel asked. “Trump’s whole platform is about supporting American companies. His company isn’t even supporting America.”
