The Broward County Sheriff’s office on Thursday released a portion of the surveillance footage from last month’s shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.

The 27-minute video appears to show school resource officer Scot Peterson outside of the building when the shooting took place, but not going into the building.

{mosads}Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said last month that Peterson did not enter the building during the shooting.

“The video speaks for itself. His actions were enough to warrant an internal affairs investigation, as requested by Sheriff Scott Israel on Feb. 21,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement.

Peterson resigned from his post last month after he was suspended without pay.

Law enforcement on multiple levels has faced harsh criticism for the response to the shooting, which took the lives of 17 people.

Broward County police and the FBI were reportedly warned that the suspected shooter, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, could pose a threat prior to the shooting.

Cruz was able to legally purchase the AR-15 rifle he allegedly used in the shooting one year before.
