A judge in New York has rejected a lawsuit former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page filed against a media company, The Associated Press reported.
Page alleged in a defamation lawsuit against Oath Inc., Yahoo’s parent company, that he had been threatened as the result of a September 2016 Yahoo News article.
He also alleged in the lawsuit, filed last September, that the article hurt his business relationships.
The article reported that Page was being investigated by U.S. intelligence agencies after a July 2016 trip to Moscow, the New York Daily News reported.
{mosads}Federal Judge Lorna Schofield said the lawsuit did not include “sufficient factual allegations” and would not move to a trial, according to the AP.
Oath declined to comment to the AP.
Page earlier this year was a central figure in a GOP memo that alleged surveillance abuses at the Justice Department.
The memo accused Justice Department officials of improperly using information from the so-called Steele dossier — which originated as an opposition research document during the 2016 presidential race — to obtain surveillance warrants on Page.
Page last month said the memo was worse than he could have imagined.
