Miami high school students walk out after student killed in shooting
Students at a high school in Miami held a walkout Tuesday after a student and former student at the school were shot and killed this past weekend.
The students at Miami Northwestern High School who participated in the walkout held signs with phrases including “Enough is Enough” and “no justice, no peace” and called for change, ABC Local 10 News reported.
Kimson Green, who was a 10th-grader at the school, and Rickey Dixon, a former student at the high school, were both killed Sunday in a shooting in Liberty City.

Two other people were in critical condition following the incident, according to the network.
The walkout comes as gun control has become a central issue in the country after a gunman opened fire at a high school in Parkland, Fla., leaving 17 people dead and injuring a number of others.
Students who survived the high school shooting have become vocal advocates for gun control, demanding that lawmakers take action to prevent future shootings.
Last month, students in schools across the country walked out of their classrooms to protest gun violence and call for change.
Hundreds of thousands of people in cities across the country also marched last month to call for lawmakers to take action on gun control.
Emma González and David Hogg, two Parkland students who have become vocal advocates for gun control, both tweeted about the school walkout at Miami Northwestern.
#NorthwesternWalkout needs to be trending at least by the end of the day; be here for them as you were here for us.

This is what the news should be covering. We must stand together and work together to fix this through love and compassion for eachother. Change can and will come but only if we never stop fighting and marching for change. #NorthwesternWalkout https://t.co/QsDfPlL1Zd
