Planned Parenthood head: Trump administration ‘worst for women’ in my lifetime

Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards says the Trump administration has the worst track record on women’s issues she’s seen in her entire life.

In an interview with CNN’s Van Jones which aired Saturday, Richards implored White House adviser Ivanka Trump to do “pretty much anything” to effect change in White House policy.

“What would you say to her, as a strong woman leader to a strong Republican woman leader, that she should be doing that she’s not doing right now in the White House?” Jones asked.

“Well, I mean, pretty much anything. I feel like right now, she’s the daughter of the president but putting that aside she is actually one of the highest-ranking women in the White House, and federal employees. My understanding is that her portfolio is ‘women,’ ” Richards said.

“There are a number of places I feel she could be making an impact, but we are seeing this administration is the worst for women that I’ve seen in my lifetime.”

Trump has come under criticism from some on the left for not speaking out against some of her father’s policies and actions.

In March of last year, “Saturday Night Live” mocked Trump in a sketch portraying the president’s daughter in a perfume ad for a fragrance called “complicit.”

“She’s loyal, devoted, but probably should’ve bounced after the whole ‘Access Hollywood’ bus thing,” the narrator says, referencing an incident in which President Trump was caught on tape making comments about kissing and groping women without their consent.

Ivanka Trump fired back at the claims in an interview with CBS’s Gayle King, arguing she wanted to be a “force for good.”

“I don’t know what it means to be complicit, but you know, I hope time will prove that I have done a good job,” said Ivanka Trump.
