NRA rips outdoor sports company for cutting ties: ‘That certainly isn’t sportsmanlike’

Outdoor sports company Yeti has become the latest business to cut ties with the National Rifle Association (NRA), part of a wave of companies ending business deals with the pro-gun group following the Parkland, Fla., school shooting.

The NRA reportedly sent an email to its members on Saturday afternoon, blasting the company for not being “sportsmanlike,” News4Jax reported Sunday.

Yeti pulled out of its partnership as an NRA vendor without prior notice and “refused to say why,” the email reads.{mosads}

“That certainly isn’t sportsmanlike. In fact, YETI should be ashamed. They have declined to continue helping America’s young people enjoy outdoor recreational activities,” the email reportedly says. “These activities enable them to appreciate America and enjoy our natural resources with wholesome and healthy outdoor recreational and educational programs.”

Hundreds of professional investors and faith groups have been demanding companies linked to the gun industry take action to prevent gun violence by severing ties with the NRA.

Several companies such as Enterprise, Hertz, Alamo, MetLife, Delta Airlines, United Airlines and the First National Bank of Omaha ended deals with the group.

The gun lobbying group came under scrutiny amid calls for gun control following the Florida school shooting in February that left 17 people dead.
