CNN host: Trump won’t tweet about Waffle House shooting because suspect is not a Muslim

CNN host Don Lemon said President Trump was not tweeting about the Waffle House shooting in Tennessee earlier this week because the suspect is not Muslim.

{mosads}”It would be nice if he tweeted about the four people who lost their lives in the Waffle House, the four black people who lost their lives, and the black hero from that, but not unless it’s a Muslim does he tweet about something like that,” Lemon said on “CNN Tonight” on Monday.

Lemon’s comments came hours after the suspected shooter Travis Reinking was taken into custody.

Reinking is accused of killing four people and injuring others at a Waffle House near Nashville in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Authorities said Reinking drove into the Waffle House parking lot in Antioch, Tenn., at about 3:19 a.m. and sat in his car for up to four minutes before using a rifle to kill two people outside the restaurant.

Reinking allegedly killed two others and injured at least four more after entering the restaurant and opening fire.

James Shaw Jr. was able to wrestle the gun from Reinking in the midst of the shooting.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders praised Shaw’s “heroic actions,” and offered the president’s condolences to the victims.

Reinking was previously arrested by the Secret Service last July in a restricted area near the White House.
