Protesters hold up bus with immigrant detainees
Protesters in McAllen, Texas, briefly stopped a bus holding detained immigrants from leaving a detention center on Saturday.
Immigration officials attempted to clear the path of the bus as it tried to leave the immigration detention center, and local law enforcement was called to remove the protesters, according to CNN.

“We’re coming for you in 2020 and we’re coming for his Congress in 2018,” one protester yelled.

“This is our country, this is our país. Our people have fought and died for this country, leave our children alone,” he added, using the Spanish word for “country.”
Demonstrators gathered at the detention center near the U.S.-Mexico border on Saturday to protest the Trump administration’s immigration policies, including the now-ended policy of separating migrant children from their families at the border.
The administration implemented a “zero tolerance” policy at the border earlier this year, mandating that all who are apprehended crossing the border illegally face prosecution.
