One man was arrested at a protest outside The Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Va., on Tuesday after the restaurant gained national attention for kicking out White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

ABC 13 WSET reports that a man was arrested by police Tuesday afternoon for throwing what appeared to be a large quantity of chicken dung at the building, which was surrounded by pro-Trump protesters as well as supporters of Virginia Senate candidate Corey Stewart (R).

{mosads}Police officials told the news outlet that the man, who has not yet been identified publicly, yelled President Trump’s signature campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again,” when he threw the dung.

Fire department members were later called to clean up the chicken dung, according to video from the scene.

The restaurant’s owner told The Washington Post that she asked Sanders to leave the restaurant after allowing her staff to vote on whether or not to serve the Trump White House aide, citing Sanders’s defense of the Trump administration’s family separation policy at the border and ban on transgender troops in the military as key reasons.

“I’m not a huge fan of confrontation,” co-owner Stephanie Wilkinson said. “I have a business, and I want the business to thrive. This feels like the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals.”

Sanders responded on Twitter, slamming the restaurant owner and saying she treats her political opponents with respect.

“Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for [Trump] and I politely left,” Sanders tweeted. “Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so.”
