Trump tweets photo of top EU official kissing his cheek: We obviously ‘love’ each other!
President Trump shared a photo on Wednesday of his embrace with a top European official hours after a joint press conference where they announced reaching an agreement to negotiate on tariffs.
In the photo, the president can be seen sharing a hug and a kiss on the cheek with Jean-Claude Juncker, who currently serves as president of the European Commission.
“Obviously the European Union, as represented by @JunckerEU and the United States, as represented by yours truly, love each other!” Trump captioned the photo.

Trump shared the photo shortly after the two delivered a joint statement on Wednesday announcing that they have reached a deal to begin resolving a dispute over tariffs and avoid a trade war.
{mosads}During the joint press briefing, the two announced that the EU agreed to increase U.S. soybean imports and lower industrial tariffs, in addition to working more closely together on regulations and energy.
The pair also said they planned to team up to intensify work on improving the World Trade Organization, which the president has criticized in the past.
“We’re starting the negotiation right now, but we know very much where it’s going,” Trump said from the Rose Garden.
The president also said that they would “resolve” the issue of retaliatory tariffs in addition to addressing the steep steel and aluminum tariffs that Trump imposed on the EU in May.
Trump referred to the EU as a “foe” earlier this month.
