Activist group trolls Nunes with new sneakers to wear while ‘evading questions’

An activist group trolled Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) by giving him with a pair of new sneakers “to keep him comfortable while evading questions.”

“You may have heard recently that we filed a couple of ethics complaints in relation to Rep. Devin Nunes,” Liz Mair, a spokeswoman for the Swamp Accountability Project, said in a video published Wednesday while holding a box of sneakers.   “I’m standing here outside of the Committee on Ethics, which is presumably where those complaints will be visited.”

“But today I’m actually doing something a little different,” Mair said while gesturing towards her box of sneakers.

“Rather than talking to the Committee on Ethics, I’m actually here to deliver a special present to Congressman Nunes,” Mair continued.

Mair then discusses a report earlier this month in which Nunes was said to have left a hearing before Democrats could ask the House Intelligence Committee chairman questions about his investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential race.

“He hasn’t been very courageous about taking questions, answering questions,” Mair said. “So we feel that these are appropriate for Devin Nunes, and they’ll keep him comfortable while evading questions and enable him to do it fast, which is very, very important. Speed is of maximum importance here.”

Mair then walks inside the office and hands the shoes to an aide, asking him to deliver them to Nunes.

“If he’s not planning on doing anymore running away from questions, he’s not going to need them,” Mair told the aide. “So somebody else can use them if that’s the case.”

Mair’s organization says on its website that it goes after “ethically-challenged politicians in both parties” who embody the swamp President Trump has promised to drain in Washington.
