Former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman on Tuesday declared that she “will not be silenced” hours after President Trump’s reelection campaign said it would file an arbitration action against her.
Manigaut Newman, who has been locked in a bitter war of words with Trump over a series of claims in her new book, told The Associated Press that she believes the action is intended to prevent her from telling her story, adding she “will not be intimidated.”

Trump’s campaign announced Tuesday that it was pursuing arbitration against Manigault Newman in New York over various claims she’s made in the media and in her tell-all book “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House” detailing her time in the White House.
The campaign has alleged that the former “Celebrity Apprentice” star violated a nondisclosure agreement she signed in 2016 by publishing the tell-all book. Manigault Newman worked on Trump’s campaign before following him to the White House, where she served as an assistant to the president.
Manigault Newman has claimed she heard a tape of the president saying the N-word while he was on “The Apprentice,” that chief of staff John Kelly threatened her when he fired her last year and that the president is “mentally declined.” She has also released tapes of conversations she’s held with campaign staffers and Kelly, as well as Trump himself.
Trump escalated his war of words with Manigault Newman earlier Tuesday, calling her a “dog” and “crying lowlife” in a tweet, saying Kelly made the right decision by firing her.
