Beto O’Rourke skateboards through Whataburger parking lot
Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) spent some time over the weekend skateboarding at a local Whataburger restaurant.
O’Rourke, who is running for Senate against Sen. Ted Cruz (R), posted video on Facebook on Saturday of him skateboarding through the fast-food chain’s restaurant parking lot.
{mosads}O’Rourke later enters the restaurant and points out that he received a Whataburger gift card from a friend while they were on the road and wanted to take advantage of it.
Some patrons can be heard chanting his name as he enters the restaurant. The video later shows O’Rourke interviewing people who have helped for his campaign.

The video from O’Rourke comes as the three-term congressman continues to gain ground in his quest to unseat Cruz.
While Texas has not elected a Democrat to the Senate in three decades, polls have continued to show that Cruz and O’Rourke are in a close race.
The Cook Political Report shifted the race from its “likely Republican” column to “lean Republican” earlier this month, saying that recent polling suggests a tighter contest.
A poll earlier this month from Quinnipiac University showed that Cruz held a 6-point lead over O’Rourke.
