ABC is moving forward with its planned “Roseanne” spin-off without star Roseanne Barr.
The network released a teaser for the spin-off, named “The Conners,” on Friday.
Co-star John Goodman said last month that the network is killing off the character Barr played on the show for its spin-off about her family. The teaser does not reveal any plot elements for the show.

ABC cancelled “Roseanne,” a reboot of a popular 1980s sitcom, in May after Barr, who also played Roseanne on the show, posted a racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett. Jarrett is a former aide to President Obama.
The show had previously earned praise from conservatives, who appreciated Barr’s portrayal of a supporter of President Trump. Trump had also touted the show’s high ratings.
The new show, without Barr, will premiere October 16.
