Comedian Kathy Griffin rejected an interview request from Fox News’ Tomi Lahren on Tuesday, writing that she would not “waste” her time by sitting down with the conservative commentator.
“Dear @TomiLahren, You and your network told me my career was over and that I was irrelevant,” Griffin posted on Twitter. “Now you want to interview me. Not only do I not want to waste my time with you, I’m too busy selling out shows on my US tour. Go F–k Yourself, Kathy Griffin.”
Griffin shared what appeared to be a Fox News email she received requesting a sit-down interview with Lahren for Fox Nation — the network’s upcoming subscription-based platform.
{mosads}The request — for the week of Sept. 17 — would cover a range of topics with the hope of “thoughtful, productive and amicable dialog.”
The request said the interview would take place in a “relaxed and casual setting.”
Lahren responded to Griffin’s tweet on Tuesday.
“Thought maybe you’d like to defend and discuss your Trump Derangement Syndrome on the most-watched cable news network,” the conservative commentator responded. “Guess not! Have a nice day.”
Griffin sparked a major national backlash after posting a photo with a bloody, decapitated head meant to look like President Trump last year.
Trump tweeted at the time that Griffin should be “ashamed of herself” and that his children were having a “hard time” with it.
The frequent Trump critic apologized and subsequently canceled her 50-city U.S. tour following the backlash.
She also was fired as co-host of CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage.
“I wish I could tour in the U.S. without getting shot — I know I can’t,” Griffin said in December. I was in the middle of a 50-city tour when the tweet happened. It was canceled in 24 hours.”
Griffin announced in March that a return show at New York’s Carnegie Hall sold out in just one day.
