The mother of Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) came out in support of her son on Saturday after six of his siblings endorsed his Democratic opponent.

Bernadette Gosar told The New York Times that she was unaware Gosar’s siblings endorsed his Democratic rival, David Brill.

But she told the Times she was “shocked” and “crushed” once she learned of the series of ads Brill unveiled at a fundraiser on Thursday featuring his challenger’s siblings.

{mosads}Though she told the Times she had a “wonderful family,” she said the Gosar children featured in Brill’s campaign ads don’t share the same the political views as Paul Gosar or herself.

“He doesn’t have a chance,” she also said in reference to her son’s opponent.

“I share the same philosophy and policies that Paul does,” she said. “He’s done a hell of a job for Arizona, and they love him.”

Paul Gosar took to Twitter shortly after the report was published, saying ”I guess I really am Mom’s favorite!”

“Awww. Thanks,” the conservative four-term congressman said in response to his mother’s remarks in the article.

Earlier on Saturday, the GOP lawmaker slammed his siblings on Twitter and said they were “are all liberal Democrats who hate President Trump.”

“My siblings who chose to film ads against me are all liberal Democrats who hate President Trump,” Gosar said in one of several tweets attacking his siblings. “These disgruntled Hillary suppporters [sic] are related by blood to me but like leftists everywhere, they put political ideology before family. Stalin would be proud.”

His remarks arrived a day after the Phoenix New Times reported that Brill unveiled a series of ads featuring six of Gosar’s nine siblings decrying his views on policies such as immigration and health care.

Gosar’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment from The Hill on Friday.

The Arizona Republican has represented Arizona’s 4th Congressional District since 2013 and represented the 1st District from 2011 to 2013. He did not face a primary challenger this year.
