The New York Police Department (NYPD) on Monday arrested three more members of the right-wing Proud Boys organization who participated in a street brawl on Oct. 12.

With Monday’s arrests, police have so far arrested five of the nine Proud Boys connected with the fight.

{mosads}A group of Proud Boys violently clashed with anti-fascist demonstrators in New York earlier this month after a speech by the group’s founder Gavin McInnes.

The NYPD last week said they are seeking to charge nine Proud Boys and three of the anti-fascist demonstrators in relation to the incident.

New York police on Monday announced they had charged Irvin Antillon and Douglas Lennan with riot and assault, while Maxwell Hare was arrested and charged with gang assault, riot and criminal possession of a weapon, BuzzFeed News reported

McInnes over the weekend said eight of the suspects were planning to turn themselves in.

The police did not arrest anyone when they broke up the fight, but they arrested three leftist protestors for allegedly attacking a man and stealing his backpack shortly after, according to BuzzFeed.

After the incident, videos circulated of the Proud Boys punching and kicking leftist protesters as they yelled homophobic slurs.

A senior official with the NYPD told The New York Times over the weekend that the police have opened a broad criminal inquiry into the far-right group.

The Proud Boys is a fraternal organization criticized for promoting racist and sexist ideas. The organization claims they are not a white nationalist group, but many of their members attend white supremacist rallies across the country. They refer to themselves as “Western chauvinists.”

The Southern Poverty Law Center has classified the Proud Boys as a hate group.

“Hate cannot and will not be tolerated in New York,” New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) wrote in a tweet after the incident. “Here’s a message from a Queens boy to the so-called ‘proud boys’—NY has zero tolerance for your bs.”
