Trump Jr on media coverage to Ocasio-Cortez: ‘Welcome to our world’

Donald Trump Jr. responded to Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-N.Y.) criticism of her media coverage on Wednesday by inviting her to compare it to being “actually” hated by the press.

“Welcome to our world… You think that’s bad? Imagine what it’s like when they actually hate you,” he tweeted, an apparent reference to media coverage of the Trumps.

{mosads}Ocasio-Cortez was criticizing a Politico report that said she was seeking to support a primary challenger to Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) in 2020 in response to ideological differences and a personal grievance.

“One disappointment about DC is the gossip that masquerades as ‘reporting.’ This story has: Not a SINGLE named or verifiable source, Only ONE on-the-record comment, which is a denial. My dad had a name for junk articles like this: ‘Birdcage lining,’” she said.

Trump Jr. and President Trump have long claimed the media is biased against them and Republicans in general, and the White House has dubbed the mainstream media “fake news.”

The president’s eldest son and Ocasio-Cortez have repeatedly feuded on social media, particularly over Ocasio-Cortez’ outspoken criticism of the White House and her professed belief in Democratic Socialism.
