White woman swears at manager of Mexican restaurant for speaking Spanish in viral video

Facebook

A video going viral on social media showed a white woman cursing at the manager of a Mexican restaurant in West Virginia over the weekend for speaking Spanish.

In videos shared to Facebook on Saturday, the woman captured in the footage, who was identified as Jill, could be seen shouting at the manager: “English is our first language, so you need to speak English. Get the f— out of my country.”

Jill could be seen saying in another point in the video that she has “no problem with the way he looks” as she continues to yell at Sergio Budar, the general manager of the Tampico Mexican Restaurant in Parkersburg, before one of the restaurant staffers intervened.

“If you’re going to be racist you’re going to leave,” the employee said.

 “I’m not racist,” Jill continued.

“No, that’s racist. This man takes care of me,” the employee said in reference to Budar. “And you’re gonna get outta here if you’re gonna talk to him like that.”

Budar later told the woman that he would pay for her and her guest’s meal if they exited the eatery, to which they complied.

“I got raped by illegal aliens,” Jill could also be seen saying to Budar while throwing something at him before leaving the restaurant. “F—ing rapist.”

Budar told NBC News later that the incident “makes me feel angry, sad.”

“It’s unbelievable that we’re still seeing this kind of behavior to this day,” the manager continued.

“I’ve been living here for almost two decades, and counting,” Budar, who is originally from Mexico, added. “I got my U.S. citizenship while here, but that doesn’t mean that people can’t speak other languages that are not English.”

Videos of the ordeal have since been viewed more than 1 million times on Facebook since Saturday.

Irma Dleon, the woman who shared the encounter on Facebook, wrote that her “daughter captured this situation while working.”

“My poor baby was frightened but cannot believe this continues to happen,” Dleon continued. “We should be united as a country but there is much hate. We are all human trying to help each other out. I will pray for this woman to be a better person, but you can only educate the ignorant.”
