Stacey Abrams celebrates premiere of ‘Game of Thrones’: ‘I’m all in’

Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams (D) expressed her excitement for the premiere of the final season of “Game of Thrones” by appearing to compare the popular show to the state of American politics.

Abrams, a professed fan of science fiction, posted on Twitter Sunday night in advance of the widely anticipated premiere.

“A crowded, well-armed field vying for the same goal. Divided loyalties and complicated rivalries. Awesome, fierce beasts,” she wrote, adding “I’m all in… #ForTheThrone.”

Several on social media noted that her post appeared to describe the crowded 2020 Democratic field, of which Abrams was thought to be a candidate after her solid showing in the Georgia governor’s race in 2018.

{mosads}Abrams ultimately lost to Gov. Brian Kemp (R) and has remained mum on whether she will run for president in 2020. Abrams gained additional prominence after delivering the Democrat’s response to President Trump’s State of the Union address.

Regardless, fans of both Abrams and the show were pointing out the similarities between the popular HBO show and the state of American politics.

Abrams previously wrote eight romantic novels under a pen name and is a fan of another popular sci-fi show, “Doctor Who,” according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“Game of Thrones” is in its last of 8 seasons.
