Tomi Lahren says Alabama’s abortion law is ‘too restrictive’
Fox Nation host and conservative commentator Tomi Lahren weighed in on Alabama’s new law banning nearly all abortions in the state, calling the legislation “too restrictive.”
Lahren wrote on Twitter Thursday that the near-total abortion ban “forces women into more dangerous methods.”
{mosads}“I will be attacked by fellow conservatives for saying this but so be it, this Alabama abortion ban is too restrictive,” she wrote. “It doesn’t save life, it simply forces women into more dangerous methods, other states or countries.”
“You don’t encourage life via blanket government mandate!” she added.

Lahren’s comments came one day after Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) signed a law banning abortion in almost all cases, including rape or incest.
Under the Alabama law, which Ivey said is unenforceable, physicians performing abortions could face felony charges and be punished by up to 99 years in prison.
The law is the strictest abortion ban in the country and is designed to challenge the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe v. Wade, which established a woman’s right to abortion.
Abortion advocates and the American Civil Liberties Union have vowed to fight the law in court.
Lahren previously warned in July that it would be a “huge mistake” for states to push to overturn the landmark Supreme Court ruling.
The conservative commentator previously revealed she supported abortion rights during an appearance on “The View” in 2017.
“I’m pro choice, and here’s why. I am … someone that loves the Constitution. I’m someone that’s for limited government. So I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government but I think the government should decide what women do with their bodies,” she said.
“I can sit here and say that, as a Republican and I can say, you know what, I’m for limited government, so stay out of my guns, and you can stay out of my body as well.”
