Camilla Parker Bowles’s wink during Trump visit goes viral

A photo of Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Parker Bowles went viral on Monday after she snuck a wink to officials and cameras after greeting President Trump on his official state visit to the United Kingdom.

Trump and first lady Melania Trump joined Camilla and her husband, Charles, Prince of Wales, for tea Monday afternoon in Clarence House after having a private lunch with Queen Elizabeth II.

Footage from Sky News quickly began circulating on Twitter of Camilla’s reaction as Charles and Trump passed.

“Camilla’s wink as Charles leads Donald Trump for tea #TrumpUKVisit,” HuffPost reporter George Bowden shared.

Camilla was reportedly winking at British officials who had just met the president and first lady, according to news.com.au.

British commentator Piers Morgan shared the clip with laughing emojis.

Charlie Proctor, the editor-in-chief at Royal Central, a news site about the Royal Family, even joked about Camilla being “in trouble.”

“Royal Protection Officer: ‘Camilla, if you are in trouble then wink, we will come and rescue you.’”

The meeting has garnered attention around the world for a number of reasons, including Charles’s and Trump’s opposing views on climate change.

Charles has supported environmental causes and sustainability for years, according to Sky News. Trump has referred to climate change as a “hoax” spread by the Chinese.
