Though President Trump is not officially launching his reelection campaign until Tuesday at 8 p.m., supporters have already started lining up in hopes of scoring entry to the Orlando, Fla., rally.
Lines began forming at the Amway Center in the wee hours of Monday morning, according to News6 in Orlando, with eight people camping out as early as 2:30 a.m — more than 40 hours before the rally.
{mosads}”There’s going to be a bunch of people, and it’s going to be pretty intense,” Gary Beck, the first person in line, told News6. “The electricity is going to be high. It’s time for America to get back on its feet and be made better than it’s ever been before.”
Trump said he was expecting record crowds for the event in a tweet earlier Monday.
“Big Rally tomorrow night in Orlando, Florida, looks to be setting records. We are building large movie screens outside to take care of everybody,” Trump tweeted. “Over 100,000 requests. Our Country is doing great, far beyond what the haters & losers thought possible – and it will only get better!”
The Amway Center holds 20,000 people, and the event is first-come, first-serve, even for ticket holders, according to a statement from Trump’s 2020 campaign press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, Florida Today reported. There will also be screens outside the venue to watch the rally, and a “Trump tailgater” event will start at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
