Ali Krieger defends teammate Rapinoe: Trump angered by women he ‘cannot control or grope’

U.S. soccer star Ali Krieger defended her teammate Megan Rapinoe after President Trump criticized her on Wednesday.

Krieger tweeted that, like Rapinoe, she will turn down an invitation to the White House if the U.S. women’s national team wins the World Cup.

“In regards to the “President’s” tweet today, I know women who you cannot control or grope anger you, but I stand by @mPinoe & will sit this one out as well,” Krieger, who is currently competing for the World Cup, tweeted.

“I don’t support this administration nor their fight against LGBTQ+ citizens, immigrants & our most vulnerable,” she added.

Trump on Wednesday blasted Rapinoe after she said she would turn down an invitation to the White House.

{mosads}In a tweet, Trump said “leagues and teams love coming to the White House” and added he is a “big fan of the American Team, and Women’s Soccer,” but cautioned that “Megan should WIN first before she TALKS! Finish the job!”

“We haven’t yet invited Megan or the team, but I am now inviting the TEAM, win or lose,” he tweeted.

The public criticism came in response to a video of Rapinoe saying she is “not going to the f—ing White House” if the U.S. team wins the tournament in Paris.

Rapinoe, the team’s co-captain, is an outspoken critic of the administration.
