A man was arrested and charged with assaulting three Secret Service agents near the White House after an incident last week.

NBC 4 Washington reported that Dane Nairns is accused of illegally entering the White House grounds near 17th Street NW before being confronted by at least three agents, after which he is accused of grabbing one agent’s radio, grabbing his gun belt and allegedly kicking a second agent in the eye.

Nairns also allegedly fought with a third agent before surrendering after being threatened with a taser, according to NBC 4.

{mosads}”The individual disobeyed verbal commands of the officer to not enter the restricted area and the suspect began to run. The suspect was placed under arrest after the arresting officer fought with him as he was actively resisting arrest and had grabbed the officer’s duty belt,” a Secret Service spokesperson said Thursday afternoon in an email.

The agents reportedly suffered minor bruises and scrapes during the attack, but no serious injuries were reported.

Nairns is currently charged with one count of assaulting a police officer and several lesser charges, and is detained pending possible further charges.

A court filing obtained by NBC 4 reports that Nairns told officers when confronted, “You know who I am. I’m the guy who called in the President.”

His entrance into the White House grounds was reportedly first noticed by a bystander, who alerted Secret Service agents to the intruder after Nairns allegedly scaled a fence near 17th Street NW.
