An anonymous person has left positive messages on a series of colored Post-it notes in the wake of the deadly mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio, placing uplifting phrases and quotes near a memorial.

The handwritten notes have appeared on store windows and other glass panes near the memorial and in the city’s entertainment district, CNN reports.

“Dayton is strong, but you don’t have to be. Talk about your feelings,” one reads.

“The world is full of good people. If you can’t find one, be one,” reads another.

Another reads: “It ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.”{mosads}

But at the bottom, many of them have the same phrase: “We rise by lifting others every day.”

Other Post-it notes thank the first responders and honor the nine people who died in the attack, which took place in the early hours of Sunday morning near a bar.

Among the victims was 22-year-old Megan Betts, the sister of the alleged gunman who was killed by police fewer than 30 seconds after he opened fire.

The Dayton shooting was one of two deadly massacres to take place over the weekend. The other, which took place hours before, broke out at a Walmart store in El Paso, Texas, leaving 22 dead and dozens injured.
