Ocasio-Cortez mocks ‘White House ethics’ in Instagram post

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) took a jab at “White House ethics” in a post on Instagram on Wednesday.

The liberal firebrand and vocal Trump critic shared a photo of herself posing next to a pile of fire extinguishers labeled “AOC Fire Extinguisher” in the U.S. Capitol Building.

“Who do you call when White House ethics are on fire?” the freshman lawmaker joked in the caption of the photo.

It was unclear where exactly in the Capitol the lawmaker, who regularly goes by her initials “AOC,” had taken the photo.

Ocasio-Cortez’s office declined to provide further context on the photo to The Hill. The Hill has also reached out to the Architect of the Capitol, which has used the acronym “AOC.”

Ocasio-Cortez posted the photo one day after President Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski’s combative testimony before the House Judiciary committee.

House Democrats brought Lewandowski to Capitol Hill to testify on what they say was Trump’s efforts to block former special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into possible obstruction.

Although Lewandowski previously said he would answer questions about the Mueller report, the White House sought to limit his testimony this week.

The House Oversight and Reform Committee has also opened an investigation into Air Force expenditures, including why the Air Force sent crews to stay at Trump’s luxury golf resort in Scotland. Ocasio-Cortez sits on that committee.
