Profane anti-Trump message removed from Kentucky mural
A new mural in Lexington, Ky., briefly contained the message “f— Trump” before it was painted over this week.
The mural, titled “The Devil Is In The Details,” contained the message until it was painted over Tuesday night, angering the artist who created the piece, according to local outlet WKYT.
{mosads}The man who painted over the anti-Trump message told the news outlet he was hired by the owner of the building to do so, and Lexington police confirmed as much, saying the man would not face any changes.
Attorney Michael Davidson owns the building and told the news outlet he had no idea the mural would contain the profanity when the artist, who goes by the name ELLE, contacted him about placing the mural on the building.
“Apparently the message is gone now,” ELLE wrote in a post on Instagram.
ELLE reportedly painted the mural as part of PRHBTN, an annual art festival in Lexington.
The art festival wrote in an Instagram post that the anti-Trump message was eventually covered up after Davidson was subjected to several harassing messages regarding the mural.
The mural took seven days to complete. The profane message was covered up just days after the artwork was finished.
