Trump lawyers say calls to former ‘Apprentice’ contestant do not prove her claims

President Trump’s lawyer said Monday that his client’s cellphone records, which show a call to a former “Apprentice” contestant on the day he allegedly assaulted her, don’t corroborate her claims.

Marc Kasowitz, Trump’s attorney, said the claims made by Summer Zervos — who said Trump repeatedly kissed and groped her without consent in 2007 after her appearance on the reality show — were “entirely meritless and not corroborated by any documents,” The Associated Press reports.

Zervos said in court documents, as part of her defamation lawsuit against Trump, that his itinerary from 2007 and emails from the Trump Organization support her claims.

The phone records show “that numerous specific details that Ms. Zervos has provided about those interactions are true,” her attorney, Mariann Wang, wrote in the Oct. 24 court filing, according to the AP.{mosads}

She alleges one of the instances of sexual assault took place when she visited Trump’s bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel in December 2007, when the now-president reportedly invited her to dinner and she went looking for career advice, the AP reports.

Trump’s itinerary indicates he stayed at the hotel on the day Zervos claims the alleged assault took place, and phone records reportedly show Trump’s phone called Zervos the next day and in the following months.

Zervos also says Trump invited her to the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes the morning after the alleged hotel incident, and his schedule reportedly confirms he was scheduled to go there on the day in question.

Trump denied her claims in October 2016, saying he never met Zervos in a hotel or touched her inappropriately.

Zervos is among more than a dozen women who have accused Trump of sexual assault or sexual harassment.
