Federal prosecutors at a court hearing on Monday said that they are “likely” to bring additional charges against two associates of Rudy Giuliani who were indicted in October on campaign finance charges, according to Bloomberg.
Prosecutors made the comment at a Manhattan hearing but did not elaborate on what new charges might be brought against Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman.
{mosads}Parnas and Fruman, who are charged with illegally directing foreign money to U.S. political campaigns, have pleaded not guilty. They reportedly aided Giuliani’s efforts to find incriminating evidence against former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.
The indictment claims the two men were also pivotal in a pressure campaign to recall then-U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch.
Since the indictment, prosecutors have reportedly issued subpoenas seeking information on a company co-founded by Parnas that paid Giuliani for legal and business advice as well as information on America First Action, the pro-Trump organization to which Parnas and Fruman are accused of funneling money.
Parnas is also reportedly prepared to testify that House Intelligence Committee ranking member Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) canceled a planned trip to Ukraine to obtain information on the Bidens to avoid alerting Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.).
