Woman who accused Trump of sexual assault calls for third article of impeachment: ‘The Abuse of Women’

A woman who accused President Trump of sexual assault said the president could be impeached on a third article of impeachment underscoring his behavior toward women.

“I wish there had been a third Article of Impeachment against Donald Trump: The Abuse Of Women,” E. Jean Carroll tweeted Tuesday.

The tweet came after House Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment against Trump accusing him of abusing his power and obstructing justice.

“It is an impeachable offense for a president to use the powers of his office to seek a personal benefit,” House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) said in introducing the articles.

“And when he was caught, when the House investigated and opened an impeachment inquiry, President Trump engaged in unprecedented, categorical and indiscriminate defiance of the impeachment inquiry,” he continued.

The Judiciary Committee is expected to vote on the articles later this week, which would set up a vote of the full House as early as next week.

The articles are related to Democrats’ allegations that Trump abused his power by using a White House meeting and security assistance to pressure Ukraine into launching an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden on ungrounded corruption accusations and 2016 election meddling.

Carroll, an author and Elle magazine columnist, in June accused Trump of raping her in a New York department store dressing room in the 1990s.

Trump responded to her allegation saying she was “totally lying” and that “she’s not my type.”

Since 2015 more than a dozen women have accused Trump of engaging in sexual misconduct against them over a span of several years. The president has denied all allegations.
